I have lost the things that distract me (but also gained new ones)

Isolation helps when it time to get work done. I stay focused, on task, on time, on a roll. It’s nice to not have the excuse to not do my work, because well, there isn’t anything else to do. But at the same time, sometimes we need distractions–to get away from work when it becomes overwhelming. That late night trip to Taco Bell, or that movie night that just sort of happened when your bestfriend came over, even that vent session when someone makes you upset. That “good” distraction is also gone. Of course, then the new distractions come in; fear of the pandemic, the news, over-eating, anxiety, and things that make us look away from the positive mind-set. To be distracted, or not to be distracted, that is the real crises.
