One of the things I like most about city living is meeting strangers, saying how you doin’, recognizing that we share this place, even if in very different ways. I like to be out and about with others. I like friendliness, shared air and space, accidental connections. That’s largely lost for me right now as I stay in my home, avoid public transportation, and when I’m out for a walk or a run, cross the street when I see someone coming toward me. It is unspoken heartbreak.
