Resilience and Adaptability.

One of the challenges of this season has been seeing the loss and grief through the eyes of my children. Watching them lose time with friends, newly found freedoms to explore our city, birthday parties, school plays, graduation ceremonies, and Science field trip to Panama that my oldest had spent a year raising money to attend, has weighed heavy on me as a father who wants to shield my kids from disappointment, grief, or sadness. What I have been surprised to find in these disappointments has been resilience and a willingness to pivot and adapt – even when it’s done begrudgingly. It’s been interesting to see what’s been exposed and forged in their faith, inner strength, and character.
